An award-winning programme that delivers high quality music projects to young people, amateurs and the local community.

The Learning and Inclusion team sits at the heart of Snape Maltings, connecting communities through music.

Activity is delivered in a huge variety of settings; from schools, care homes and prisons to right here at Snape Maltings.

Last year 28 projects took place. A total of 337 sessions, involving 80,451 participants, 45,310 audience members and 142 artists.

Aldeburgh Sings

A long-term wellbeing project in the urban environments of Ipswich and Lowestoft, exploring the impact of communal singing on young people’s lives in both school and non-school environments.

Arts Award

Snape Maltings is a registered Arts Award Supporter. We offer events, activities and opportunities which help young people achieve Arts Awards.

Group A

An un-auditioned vocal project for young people in Lowestoft to working with professional musicians to create performances throughout the year.

HMP Warren Hill

A long-term wellbeing project exploring how singing and creating music together can contribute to a positive culture and constructive ways forward for men serving long prison sentences at HMP Warren Hill.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Developing new approaches to singing with SEND schools and groups across Suffolk.
